Sage Intacct management reporting, delivered as a finished monthly report

Connect your Sage Intacct company and the Financial Analyst turns it into a management report draft every month, for your approval: profit and loss, a balance sheet built from your trial balance, cash with a 13-week forecast, receivables and payables, and a variance read that names what moved. It reads through Sage Intacct's Web Services with credentials your administrator creates once, and it only ever issues read queries.

Works — we are verifying it on our first customers' books. Tell us if anything looks off.

What the monthly report contains

  • Profit and loss. Read from your Sage Intacct general ledger, month by month.
  • A balance sheet that does not depend on a report layout. Sage Intacct financial statements are report definitions your controller designs, so their section names are whatever someone typed. The balance sheet here is built from Sage Intacct's own trial balance, account by account, and each account is placed by its own type in your chart of accounts — a renamed report section cannot drop a class of assets.
  • Cash, 13 weeks out. A forecast with its minimum balance and headroom, starting from the balances of your bank accounts.
  • Receivables and payables. Aging of what customers owe you and what you owe suppliers, by customer and by supplier, with days sales outstanding and days payable outstanding.
  • Variance against the prior month, with causes. Each line that moved is explained by the accounts that moved it and by how much.
  • Your departments. When your company tracks departments, the report adds a breakdown of revenue and costs by department.

The same monthly close also produces an investor report, a board deck as slides (PPTX) laid out from the report you approve, and an Excel workbook with live formulas.

What the Financial Analyst reads from Sage Intacct

Your GL accounts, the trial balance, journal entries (the general-ledger detail behind each figure) and receivables and payables. On the first connection the analyst reads up to 24 months of history, so the first report already has a past to compare with.

A multi-entity company? The connection can open at the level of one entity, and every read then returns that entity's books and nothing else. On the Team plan each company in the workspace can be an entity of the Sage Intacct company you already connected, or a different Sage Intacct company with its own credentials.

What the connection uses instead of a sign-in button

The connection uses Sage Intacct's Web Services credentials, not an OAuth sign-in, so there is no scope to approve. Every request carries two things:

  • A sender ID and its password. Sage issues a sender ID to the company that owns an integration. Ataski holds none, so you bring your own: your Sage account manager issues it, and you authorise it in your company.
  • A Web Services user. A dedicated user you create in your own Sage Intacct admin — not anyone's regular login — with a role that can only read. That role is the permission boundary: Sage enforces it before any data reaches Ataski, and you can rotate or revoke the user at any time.

The Financial Analyst only issues reports, queries and reads. It cannot post journal entries or change anything in your ledger. Sage's newer REST API offers OAuth 2.0; this connection does not use it.

How to connect Sage Intacct

A one-time setup by your Sage Intacct administrator, in five steps. The longest is the second: there is no self-serve sign-up for a sender ID, it can take several days, and Sage may charge for the licence — ask what it costs before you commit.

  1. Web Services subscription. Your administrator turns on the Web Services subscription for your company (Company → Admin → Subscriptions).
  2. A sender ID from Sage. Ask your Sage account manager, or open a Sage support case, for a Web Services developer licence and a sender ID with its password.
  3. Authorise the sender ID in your company: Company → Setup → Configuration → Company → Security tab → Edit → Web Services authorizations → Add. The sender ID is case-sensitive.
  4. Create a Web Services user with a role that can only read: Company → Admin → Users, roles, and groups → Add next to Web Services users.
  5. Start your free month, open the Financial Analyst's Data & settings, press Connect on the Sage Intacct card and enter the five values: sender ID, sender password, company ID (the one you type on the Sage Intacct sign-in screen), Web Services user ID and its password. Press Test & connect.

If Sage answers that the sender is not authorised, step 3 is missing or has a typo.

Checked before it reaches you or your board

  • A second, independent AI reviewer reads every monthly narrative before release. When it disagrees with the analyst, the disagreement comes to you instead of being settled quietly.
  • An AI explanation that cites a source outside your books is discarded, not published. If the month is not closed yet, the report says so and shows only the lines the books support.
  • EBITDA is called EBITDA only when depreciation is read from the books; otherwise the line is named the operating result.
